Every academy owner gets asked the same question at pick-up: is my child getting better?
For years at Elite Cricket Academy, the honest answer lived in a coach’s head. Bookings and memberships sat in Momence, a capable studio platform. Everything it could not hold went into spreadsheets, group chats and memory. The session was paid for and the lane was booked, but what the player had worked on, and whether it was sticking, had no home.
The gap in the middle
We went looking for something better and found two kinds of software.
- Studio and booking platforms that are good at classes, memberships and payments, and have no idea what a player is.
- Athlete-performance platforms built and priced for professional clubs, which will not take a booking or a direct debit.
A performance-focused academy needs both, joined up: the booking, the payment and the development record of the same child, in one place. Nobody sold that. So we built the middle, and called it Arenzo.
Built where it is used
Arenzo was not designed in a boardroom. It was built inside Elite, which is founded and owned by Watzaura’s founder, and we say that up front. It runs three centres: Hoppers Crossing and Pakenham in Melbourne, and Medavakkam in Chennai.
Running it for real is what shaped it:
- Two countries from day one. Chennai meant a second currency, a second tax regime and a second payment rail, so Arenzo handles Stripe in Australia and Razorpay in India, with tax invoices under an ABN and a GSTIN.
- Children’s records done properly. Children sit under their parents’ accounts, consent is recorded per person, and media consent is checked before a photo is taken.
- Coaching that leaves a record. Coaches rate their athletes weekly with a highlight and a focus, programs come from a shared library, and families receive the digest.
- A real migration. Customers, memberships and paid bookings moved off Momence and into Arenzo, which is why we can describe switching from experience.
As of October 2026, Arenzo holds more than 2,100 customer accounts across the three centres, with over a hundred new accounts opening each month.
What this blog is for
We will use this space to share what we learn: how we run assessments, how we handle consent for junior athletes, what moving off another platform actually involves, and what we are adding to Arenzo next. The detail is aimed at academy owners and head coaches.
If you run an academy and recognise the gap, request early access or book a demo. The full founding-customer story is on Built at Elite.
